How trials, cancellations, and refunds work on Magnifi — in plain English. No fine-print traps.
Overview
This Refund & Cancellation Policy explains how billing, trials, cancellations, and refunds work for paid Magnifi subscriptions. It forms part of, and should be read alongside, our Terms of Service.
Magnifi is operated by the founder of Magnifi. Payments are processed by Dodo Payments, our Merchant of Record, who handles checkout, billing, taxes, and the issuing of any refunds on our behalf.
Free Trial
Paid plans include a 14-day free trial so you can evaluate Magnifi before paying anything.
- You are not charged during the trial. Your first payment is taken when the trial ends (day 15) unless you cancel first.
- You can cancel at any time during the trial at no cost — you will not be billed.
- When the trial ends, your selected plan begins and your payment method is charged automatically for the upcoming billing period.
- Free trials are intended to be used once per organization.
14-Day Money-Back Guarantee
We want you to be confident in your purchase. If Magnifi isn't right for you, you can request a full refund of your first payment within 14 days of that payment being charged.
This guarantee applies to your first paid charge on a subscription (after any free trial). See How to Request a Refund below.
Cancelling Your Plan
You can cancel your subscription at any time — there are no cancellation fees and no lock-in contracts.
- Cancel from the in-app billing portal (Billing & Plans → Manage Subscription), or by emailing support@magnifi.space.
- When you cancel, your subscription stops renewing and you keep access to paid features until the end of the period you have already paid for.
- After the 14-day money-back window, cancelling does not trigger a pro-rated refund for the remainder of the current period.
- Removing users lowers your next bill; it does not refund the current period.
To avoid the next charge, cancel before your renewal date. You can do this at any time from the billing portal.
How Refunds Are Processed
- Approved refunds are issued through Dodo Payments back to your original payment method.
- Refunds typically appear within 5–10 business days, depending on your bank or card issuer.
- Refund amounts include any taxes that were collected on the original charge.
Taxes
As our Merchant of Record, Dodo Payments calculates, collects, and remits applicable taxes (such as VAT, GST, or sales tax) at checkout, based on your location. Where a charge is refunded, the corresponding tax is refunded with it.
Non-Refundable Items
Except where required by applicable law, the following are not eligible for a refund:
- Charges older than 14 days (outside the money-back window).
- Renewal charges after your first billing period — cancel before the renewal date to avoid them.
- Accounts suspended or terminated for violating our Terms of Service, or for fraud or abuse.
If you believe you were charged in error, contact us — we'll always review genuine billing mistakes.
How to Request a Refund
To request a refund, do either of the following:
- Email support@magnifi.space from your account email, including your organization name and the date of the charge; or
- Open the in-app billing portal (Billing & Plans → Manage Subscription) and follow the cancellation/refund options.
We aim to confirm and process eligible refunds within 2 business days of approval. The funds then settle back to your payment method on the timeline described in How Refunds Are Processed.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Effective” date at the top of this page. For material changes, we will notify you by email or a prominent in-app notice. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
